password problems

I'm trying to run a Crystal 8.5 report on an access 2000 database. The report has worked perfectly in the past, but about a month ago a problem presented- CR started prompting for ID & password and won't run without it.

The rub of the whole thing is that there is no password, and there are no users defined in the database. I wrote the dumb thing and didn't add them... I've tried using 3 different password scanners on it, and all agree there is no password.

So why is CR prompting for a password? Is there a default or backdoor password I can use? Can it be disabled?

This is terribly confusing and now I can't get any data out of my database. I'm okay for now (can fake it for a short while) but eventually someone will ask for those reports.

Any help would be appreciated!

Perhaps the admins have a password on the directory or on the file now?

Iam also getting this password problem. This password is asked when you Iam trying to setDBlocation at design time.

ACTUALLY THERE IS NO PASSWORD BACKDOOR OR FRONT DOOR UNLESS YOU SET SOMETHING IN THE ACESS DB.

Crystal is asking for password because of various reasons
corrupted DLL's or Access is having not having shared option.
Whenever I close the form which calls the crystal report or all the forms and open the crystal It doesn't ask you any password. Temporarily I am closing all the forms and working at design time.

I read another article at crystal decisions which tells you that Seagate software keys must match the MS.keys so that they are pointing to the same SYSTEM.MDW.
IF your registry keys are correct check for RUNTIME dlls.

YOU CAN Check te registry key settings with SYSDB32.exe . I can sen that utility to see whether your keys are fine.
