I am unable to access Win2000 server from clients though vice versa is fine and even all the client machines are pinging well to the server and to other clients. Whenever, I am trying to access the server, it asks for password and never let me in even if I give correct password. Where could be the problem? or shall I look for this password settings in server.
I am actaully working on Japense Win2000 OS and Win98Japanese clients.

is the Win98 part of the Win2K domain ? or is the computer only in a 'workgroup' ?
Are you logging onto the domain ? or only on local ? --------------------------------------------------------------------
How can I believe in God when just last week I got my tongue caught in the roller of an electric typewriter?

I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work

Windows 98 is part of workgroup and login as local

change the workgroup name to the domain name,
let your Win98 PC log in to the Win2K domain
and then try to access shares.. it will work without being asked for a username & password --------------------------------------------------------------------
