I Have Written a Program Using VB5...
Access 97 Is My Database

All Works Fine... Until Another Program Is Installed That Updats The Crystal Report File Reporting Process... To The Newer Version

If The 97 Database Is Password Protected... The Old Crystal Reports Worked Fine

But Now a Newer Vesion Of Crystal Reports Has Been Installed (Via Another Program)... Replacing The Older Working Version...

The Program Now Errors On Reporting...... Due To The Password Protection On The Access 97 Database..

Upgrading VB5 to VB6.... Not An Option
Changing Access From 97... Not An Option

I Am Not Impressed with The New Crystal Reports... And Should Not Be Forced To Use It...

I Just Want What Worked Before, To Be Able To Work On All Versions Of Crystal Reports, But Still Give Me Some Basic Database Protection... But Allow Any Person To Use Any Version Of Crystal Reports Of Choice

Can Anybody Tell Me If There Is Any Coding in VB5 That Can Be Done, To Allow Any Version Of Crystal Reports To Work On an Access 97 Database, If It Is Password Protected.

So That I...
Do Not Need To Change... (If It Not Broken... Don't Fix It)

Else I Will Just Have To Drop The Database Password

Thanks

My only suggestion is for you to look at Crystal Decissions website and look at their knowledge base. I have not done alot of work in VB5 for quite sometime. I use CR8 Developer's edition with VB6. I am assuming that you wrote the software with the CR version that came with VB5??

In any event the only possible solution I can offer is to take a look on Crystals website and see what they have to say. I am sure that it is probably some sort of connectivity issue. (ie. ODBC, ADO, DAO).

Hope this helps.
