password not masked

I'm running AIX 5300-03 on i5 hardware. When issuing a telnet session from OS/400 5250 to my AIX partition the password shows as you type. How can this be masked?.
Thanks.

I believe you have to press PF6 before entering the password. That's just the way AS400 screens work.
