hi..i just want to ask if there is a way to trace if my computer with an OS of winxp could be determined if there was someone who tried to use my PC without asking, but was unsuccessful because of the password protection?..i just want to know if my officemate is trying to use my PC without my knowledge..Thanks
 
Start, Run, secpol.msc
Click Audit Policy
Double Click Account logon audit policy and enable as you wish.
Double Click Logon Event audit policy and enable as you wish.

You view the logged events using Event Viewer - Start, Run, eventvwr.msc
 
thanks a lot..never thought it has this capability...but one more thing, id also like to ask if winxp is better technically compared with win2000? cuz iv heard that most of the time winxp is attacked by viruses more than win2000. so if i have to buy any of the two, which would u suggest and why? thanks a lot again for all the help..
 
XP Service Pack 2 has a much smaller attack surface for viral or other malware than Win2k. XP SP2 is a much more secure product.
