For some reason, about 20 students are prompted to change their password every X number of days. They encounter a screen telling them that their password has expired. How can I disable this? The rest of my 300+ users do not experience this issue and while I understand it's good practice to change one's password every so often, it makes it tedious for these kids since they can't even remember their other passwords, let alone be force to keep changing their logon password every month or so.

If you go into the user profile on the server, under the general tab for each user, you can place a checkmark in the box that says "password never expires". This way that prompt will not appear for these users.
I am assuming you are in a domain environment where the server is authenticating these users. If this is the case, you can access these user profiles through Start > Programs > Active Directory Users and Computers > Users for Windows 2000 Server. NT it is listed as Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > User Manager for Domains.
If the users are authenticating locally on their own machine, then you need to change this setting on each client machine. Please provide me with more info if this is the case, otherwise, Good Luck.
