I have Arcserve 9.0 Build 9052

I created a new DB Pruning job to run overnight. It gave the following error:

When I try and specify a user to authenticate under, it defaults to caroot - I don't know this password.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Hi,
First of all check that your administrator account is not locked. Then you should also check that you can log on to your server with the administrator account and the password.
When that's done you should open the Arcserve server admin tool and go to admin menu and select brightstor arcserve backup system account (i'm using 11.1 so your menu might be different). Enter your Administrator account and password and stop and start the arcserve engines. Have a look in your activity log for error messages. If you have none you should be all set.

I hope you find this post helpful.

That worked perfect - thanks.

My problem is that I have three very large files - just over three Gb's each - named astpsdat.000 etc

Any idea how to make these smaller?

No problem!
It's your lucky day today, you've got the right man and hit two birds with one stone :)
Have a look at the: faq478-5164

Cheers!

I hope you find this post helpful.

It certainly is my lucky day!

Just to clarify - where can I find the option "Record detail information" in Backup jobs options?

Thanks...

GSC -

Rob
