Password Database Error: Open Failed

I have a PDC and 2 BDC's all running Veritas Backup Exec 7.3. About two weeks ago, the PDC had it's password changed which resulted in the BDC's getting the error message "Password Database Error: Open Failed." So the PDC's password was changed back to what it was orginally and the BDC began doing normal backups again. However, now the PDC beeps when you put in a tape and gives the same error message "Password Database Error: Open Failed." Jobs just sit there pending.

What should I do? Is this a tape catalgue issue, nt security issue, backup password issue, all 3, more than 3? I'm lost here. Thank you.

I have this same problem. I've tried deleting and recreating the password database but still get the same error. Have you come up with any solutions?

I had the same problem and corrected it by restoring my c$ share. Good Luck!

I had the exact same problem, but I have Backup Exec installed to my E: drive. Obviously I had ended up resharing E: as E$. Would of never figured it out without your posts. Thanks.
