How do I lower the password complexity level--when I'm logging in locally to Windows 2000 Professional. The laptop was a member of a domain with complex requirements. It's retained those requirements as its Effective Requirements. How do I lower the effective requirements now that the laptop is no longer on this domain?

If it is no longer part of the domain you should be able to log on as a local admin and restet the password.

If your looking to do it locally then you have to configure the account policy in the local security policy
start>settings>contol panel>administrative tools>local security policy
