How do I lower the password complexity level--when I'm logging in locally to Windows 2000 Professional.

gpedit.msc

Go into the computer configuration/security/account policies/Password policies

Remove the PC from the domain, or move the computer account to an OU that has GPO inheritance blocked. Either of these two actions will allow the local policy of the PC to take effect.
