I'm attempting to manage a small business network. The server has SBS2003 and all the clients are running XP. All the users are registered with the server and have passwords to gain access. But this causes a problem. Upper-level management [the boss] is getting irritated because every time he brings his laptop in, its not connecting automatically. Its irritating for him to have to go to My Computer, double click the server's mapped network drive and login to the server so all his short cuts to various folders will work.
It there something I can setup in his laptop to automatically connect and login to the server when he connects to the local network?
Or rather, should I ask: Why isn't XP putting up a login/password prompt when he tries to access a shortcut that points to a folder on the server, when it is a disconnected network drive??
