Passwd Change = templates unavailable

I'm a newish user, so any help is very appreciated!!

We changed the password for the System account, which is what our users use to log in.
When we did this, the templates we'd used to create reports became unavailble, so none of our users could view any of our reports.
We changed the password back, which is a Security problem.

How can we change this password without making previously created templates and reports inaccessible??

What software and version are you running?

Generally people log into CE using their own accounts, not a system account.

We are running Crystal Enterprise 9. Is that what you meant?

I've e-mailed my supervisor with a question about whether or not the users are logging in with their own accounts. I think he said earlier that they all use the System account, but I could have misheard him. I will reply once I find out more from him, I wish i knew more about all of this! I think it's like a trial by fire, or something !

Yes, We know it is VERY Bad, but we do have all of our users logging in to the System account. We are wanting to change this, but every time we try to change anything about the accounts, the templates become unavailable and the users can no longer see any of the reports. How can we fix this?? Please help, any ideas are welcome!
