hi,

I´ve a trunking problem with a passport8600 and a 5510-24.
My 5510-24 has 2 GBIC with Gbit.
My idea is to make a trunk with 2 Gbit.
It works very fine, but when I reboot the 5510-24,
my trunk isn´t working any more.
some clients can make a connection over it, but some not.
none of the ports is on blocking state
when I disable one of the ports, and then reenable it,
it´s working.
but next time, when I reboot the 5510, I problem is there again.
I have the newest firmware on the 5510-24 and
on the passport8600 I have 3.2.2.2

Do you have any tips?

thx,
mewi

I am running twoo 5510's with passport 8600's and the MLT's are working fine, with the exception of spanning tree fast start, make certain both ends are Spanning Tree "Normal Learning

Have you set the trunks on both ends?
I've got a couple trunked (same code you are using) with no problems

hi,

yes the trunk is set to "MLT trunk"
on both ends.
and my spanning tree is set to "faststart-->false"

hmmm,
Only things I know to tell you to check is PVID on all the ports, make sure they are the same. Make sure all the ports are set to Access (untagged) or Trunk (tagged). Have you tested your fiber or cable? Have you tried just a single uplink on each GBIC?

May be worth seeing if you can upgrade the 8600. We had MLT problems with 380s on 3.3 for the 8600. Now running 3.3.4 and hope to go to 3.5.1 soon.....downtime permitting (which is not easy).

ok, I will try to upgrade the passports.
cause the support of firmware 3.2.2.2 will be discontinued soon by nortel.
