hi guys , we have a core of 3 pp8600 & a further 8 remote ones.I have implemented a number of ip filters on some of these routing switches & for a while all worked ok, two of them where re-booted after config saves and continued to work for a couple of days more ,THEN bit by bit some of the filters ceased to work and next day maybe another ,no pattern or logic.
We are running on ver 3.0.3.0 on the passport & feeding out to bps.s ver 1.1.1.1.

When we were on that code we had our 8600 start doing strange things.
ex)
1. Traffic would be real slow for a couple of hours and then it would go back to normal.
2. When we did a continuous ping we would get time outs every 30 to45 seconds.
3. Routes would disappear.

Amazingly enough what fixed it was removing and readding the IP to the default VLAN.

Something to try since strange things are happening on your 8600.

Scott My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my knowledge.

Hi ,

sw ver 3.0.3 has known issues related to IP filters , that has been fixed in other releases , i think last now is 3.0.7

For the BPS , we have faced many issues with different sw versions in our 500+ switches , finally it is stable now with code 2.0.2.3

Regards ,
