Passing variables to Crystal report

I have created a web application that has variable(s) that will need to be the parameters for a Crystal report (version 8.5, Crystal Enterprise). Not having done anything with Enterprise version or trying to pass externally determined parameter variables, I'm at something of a loss as to how to proceed. Does anyone have any idea of how I can code for this or how best to proceed? Not sure if this is the best forum for this, but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, Durug, that gives me a little better idea of at least one of my questions. I'll play with it a little bit more and see what I come up with.
