I am trying to put a database together for a lab that would like to be able to use Microsoft Access to organize everything but also use additional forms in other applications to record data and print up reports. I would like to have the client name and the experiment number passed over to a data table with lab results, etc. Is there a program that would work with Access to do this so the client name and experiment number does not have to be input everytime a new experiment is started(some of the clients request up to 25 tests to be done on one single sample).

The database itself is accessible to (for instance) programming languages like Visual Basic. If you select a reference to DAO or ADO, you can access a database.

If the program you want to communicate with is written by another company, that is a problem. In that case, you could copy pieces of text to the clipboard.

Hope this helps [smarty]
