hello

I'm messing with a batch file that i'm trying to get to pass a username and password to an os/400 server through client access v5.5

I use client access in a terminal server environment. Right now, all my users start their sessions via a shortcut on each of their desktops. They're prompted for their username and password and away they go. That part is just fine. But, I want to have another .ws file that they can access that will automatically pass a username and password.

Is it possible? I just got off the phone with ibm support and they said it is, but they couldn't help because it's out of their scope. Since i'm a rookie to this stuff, I'm pretty much screwed!

Can anyone help?

Hey Snoots,

This may help you...

In Client Access 5.5, you can do the following: Choose
"Congigure..." from the Communications Menu. Towards the
bottom of the dialog box, check the "Bypass signon"
checkbox. The user is required to enter a User ID and
password one time only. Any additional sessions that are
opened will automatically start without the user having
to enter a password.

Also, you are probably aware that you can launch a
workstation session with a command such as:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\IBM\CLIENT ACCESS\EMULATOR\PRIVATE\AS400.WS".

I hope this helps.
