Hi all,

I'm having a bit of an annoying problem.

I am trying to pass a UID parameter -
i.e. {A9F8A1D4-B7FC-49EA-A926-9BB1077F4793} -
to a report. I am trying to pass this as a string field. However, the report never seems to find the correct record.

When I inspect the parameter field in the 'Select Expert' in Crystal Reports, and it allows me to select the appropriate values from the table I am using. However, it displays the UIDs as:
{guid {A9F8A1D4-B7FC-49EA-A926-9BB1077F4793}}

If I try and select one from the Select Expert drop down list, it STILL does not select the correct row.

I've checked everything I possibly can to make sure I'm not doing something reall stupid, but I'm having no joy.

Any direction would be gratefully received!

Thanks

Jon

GUID's are sucha pain...

In future posts, consider giving at least a few details about your environment, such as Crystal version, database type, type of connectivity used, etc.

I would test using a different type of connectivity, if you're using direct, try ODBC, or vice-versa.

I've used a lot of SP's with GUID's during a VFP and Crystal contract, but I passed them as strings and CONVERTED them in the SP.

Sorry and thanks.

Using CR 9, and using, at the moment at least, a DAO connection since it's an Access database.

I'll have a fiddle and get back.

Cheers

(Oh, and they are such a pain!)

Jon

I haven't worked with Access enough to help there, sorry.

Hopefully a different connectivity type (ODBC?) will resolve for you.
