Passing through variables

Hi,

I'm trying to make a forum within flash (which works fine), but now i wanted to add some mail function (like here on this forum).
In the mail i put a reference like

http://members.lycos.Fr/forum?thread=5

(this link isn't working)
But when i tested this and i click this link, my movie doesn't recognise this var (however it is displayed in a box correctly after using the int( function.
