Hello, Impromptu 7.3 user here.

I'm trying to pass values that I specify in my prompts in a parent report to a child report. The most important values I'm looking to pass through are Start Date and End Date.

I've tried reading through old posts on here and I haven't found anything that has helped me.

Is there any way to do this besides adding a date field to "Columns to be included in the filter"? This doesn't seem to work. Thanks in advance for any advice.

It's not clear what the parent-child relationship is here.
a) I assume there is some sort of join between the parent and child. You can make the child report a data source via Data source Hotfile and include the join columns as well as the start and end dates. Then the filter would be something like:

KeyParent=KeyChild and DateField between ?Start_Date? and ?End_Date?

where ?Start_Date? and ?End_Date? are prompts

b) Alternatively you could create the child report with the date prompts and save as a hotfile. Then use that as a data source in the parent report. If this is a regular event it would be beeter to do this using a macro.

Failing that, post more information and I'm sure someone will be able to help.
