I am using an Oracle 8i database with Crystal 9. How can I pass a default username and password into the report so that the user doesn't need to when running the reports.

Thanks

Are you using ODBC Driver?

If yes, go to edit the ODBC configuration and for the user id section, key in username/password.

For example, the user id is mike and password is mike123, the valid input will be mike/mike123

Doesn't seem to accept it - do you just mean through Admin Tools - Data Sources or do you mean hard code it into a file or is it somewhere within Crystal?

Thanks

yes..go to Administrative Tools -> Data Sources (ODBC) and select the your desired configuration.

my fault that I didn't mentioned it very clear about the driver. I am using Oracle8 ODBC driver and it works just fine. However, I have tried CR Oracle8 driver, it seems like you cannot keyin the password.

You can try Orcale8 ODBC.
