Passing Params from HTML?

Can someone please describe how I can pass parameters from HTML to a shockwave app? I've got 3 HTML pages, and each one is for a different chat room. I'd like to pass an identifier in the HTML that instructs shockwave what machine to connect to.

Finally, how do I access the passed in params from within shockwave?
