Passing parameters to sql qry for record retrival in crystal report.

My problem is i need to display the crystal report based on taking two parameters as input for start date of purchase made and end date for the same. I am using VB 6.0, crystal reports 6.0 and MySQL server.
Please tell methe code to write the sql passing parameters and calling the crystal report based on that.
