Passing parameters from Java to Crystal Reports??

Has anyone succesfully done this?

I am using Crystal Enterprise 8 and the Seagate Java Viewer Bean.

I am using this syntax:
viewerBean.setReportParameter("param value");

But the report still prompts for the value.
