Passing form values/text

I have a drop down box and instead of passing the "value" i need to pass the "text" of the option that was selected to the next form. Currently using, form.request("selOption").

Can you just set the value to equal the same as the text you are showing?

I think jitter is right, as long as you do not use any ' or " in the text value, they can be the same.
