I am having a problem finding a solution to this. It may be because I am new to SharePoint and I am unsure of the terminology used.

I am using sharepoint designer on moss 2007 server pages
I have 3 or 4 lists that are using a filter from a single drop down list.
I want to create a button that directs the user to a page that opens each list in its own edit form view and use a single button to save all of the records (no matter which webpart is changed)

-So far, I can display all webparts in a new page using a hyperlink and web part connections to pass the filter from the drop down list.
Q: Is there a way to create a button to do this? (Everytime I try this the button either doesn't work or designer gives me an error)

-On the Edit page, each webpart has it's own "Save" and "Cancel" button.
Q: Is there a way to create a single "Save" and "Cancel" button for all webparts, and at the same time make a redirect back to the original page, with the original value in the drop down list selected after the values have been saved or cancelled?

-I have attempted assigning the drop down list value as a variable, but I failed at both assigning that value to a variable AND passing anything to or from the next page using parameters etc.

-I am using sensitive data so I cannot post files or source
-If there are any questions regarding my vague post please ask and I will do my absolute best to respond quickly! I have been spending far too much time on this single problem and I would be grateful for any help!
