Does anyone know how to pass a Crystal Enterprise login name to use it as a filter in Crystal Reports?

ta in advance

I don't think it can be done via Crystal Reports/Enterprise - you might be able to do it using a custom Dot-Net front-end to Crystal Enterprise.

Thanks for you help but found out how to do it.

There is a funtion in document properties called CurrentCEUserName.

CurrentCEUserName" only exists in CR 10, not in versions 8.5 or 9.0 - so you'll only be able to do it if you are in a Crystal Enterprise 10 environment.

Hi,

Does anyone know how to pass the CE log in and filter with CurrentCEUserName? I am trying to use it as a selection criteria. But I got no data. Thanks!!

Hi,
Does your datasource have a field to use in the selection criteria? Does it have the same values as your CE user IDs?

Yes we do.

My selection criteria in the Crystal Report is:
{DST.SEC_USR_ID} = "UpperCase(CurrentCEUserName)"

DST.SEC_USR_ID is the field on the datassource. If I type in my id (in upper case) vs. the CurrentCEUserName, I get data.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I think I figured it out. Instead of using it directly in the selection criteria, I created a fomular field with that condition and returned a 'true' or 'false'. Then I referenced the fomular field as part of the selection crieria. It's a long way getting there. But it seems to be working. Thanks.
