passing a parameter to a subreport

I have a report that has the user that kicked it off as a parameter field. In certain cases I would like a subreport to also run and I would like this same parameter field to print on the subreport. How should I pass the parameter field? I didn't know if I could include it in the subreport links since the any user can run the report and this data isn't in any of the records from the database.

You can make it a link to the subreport. Then after you created as a link, go into the record selection of the
subreport and delete the logic Crystal put there for the
link. This will leave the paramater field in the subreport without using it in the record selection.
