Passing a parameter from batch file to xls macros

I am calling an excel macro by simply doing;

START C:\auto\prog\macro_~1.xls

I now need to pass the name of the database as this is a variable.

START C:\auto\prog\macro_~1.xls db_name


How would I change the macro to pick up the name ?
