Passed my A+

Finally started going after my certifications. Passed the A+ Hardware with a 662 which I was a little disappointed with, but passed the A+ OS with a 828 today!! I am working on the Network + now so I can use as an elective for the MCSE down the road.

How would anyone here rate the A+ difficulty wise compared to the Network +?

How would anyone rate the A+ tests to the Microsoft tests difficulty wise??

As far as difficulty, I would say the A+ is more difficult because of it's breadth of knowledge. The recently revised Net+ is a very well written exam. Probably CompTIAs best.

You should consider a rollover of your A+ to the Electronics Technicians Assoc.'s Computer Service Technician (CST). Another feather in the cap and you get introduced to the good folks at the ETA. Real people. A good organization. I just returned from the ETA National Convention and I had a great time. Good networking, good training sessions, not to mention that it was in Las Vegas.

In my own experience, the questions on the Network+ exam tended to be trickier than the A+, but less of them, and a single exam.

If you're planning on using A+/Network+ as your MCSE elective, one caveat: A+/N+ satisfy the MCSA elective but not MCSE (at least on Server 2003). The CompTIA Security+ exam satisfies the elective requirement for both.
