Passed my CCNA on 2nd attempt (3rd if you count the one 2 years ago:)!

Repeating the exam quickly certainly helps: the experience and familarity counts a great deal.

I don't think I'll formally take the CCNP exams but I'd like to build up knowledge further, along the CCNP route. So I'm about to get a copy of the Sybex Complete CCNP book, is that a good choice?

And finally, a stupid question (I'm just qualified after all): this came up on the exam, can't remember the exact wording now, but basically what is the difference between point-to-point and point-to-multipoint sub-interfaces (in the context of frame relay). Say if you have a hub, and a couple of spokes, do you have to use point-to-multipoint, or can you use point-to-point as well?

Thanks! I do wish I found this forum a lot earlier!

alphabet04,

I really like the CBT Nuggets for CCNP - especially since you said that you are not going to take the CCNP exams right away. With the Nuggets you can sit back and watch the videos again and again - I get tied of reading all the time!

You can got to and try some FREE examples to see if they are for you!

You also might check eBay - under software - I have seen lots of different CBTs for all different kinds of Cisco training - might find one that is right along what you are working with!

Just a thought!

Well done on passing your CCNA,

I would say get the Cisco press ones as you go, I made the mistake of buying a whole set, and by the time I got to BCRAN I was using an older book, not a smart choice! Also I used the Sybex alongside Ciscopress for BSCI then decided they werent good enough so didnt use them again.

I reccomend the K-NET CBT series they following the Exam objectives very closely and if you are lucky enought to know someone who has a Gold Partner CCO login then you access these free via the partner E-learning link!

CBT nuggets are ok, but I find them a bit granular I sometimes I recently used one for ARCH while is was a great revision CBT it was just that, stay away from the learnkey ones knocking around on Ebay they are well and truely out of date now and dont mirror to the current objectives!.

Good luck.
