I'm working with pass thru sql that runs successfully the first time. However, if I attempt to rerun the sql, I receive an ODBC fail with the following message:

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]A cursor with th name 'Cursor1' already exists
(#16915)[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]A cursor with th name 'Cursor2' already exists
(#16915)

I checked the database for a possible locking issue but found none.

You should deallocate cursor as
deallocate YourCursorName John Fill
