Any reason why Partner was only designed with a 2 digit ext. format. It makes my clients seem like they are tiny businesses when they are trying to create a larger business image. At least a 3 digit would be better. Any way to change this like it can be changed on Nortel.

well if your using AA you can add a digit to outside users , I usually use selector code 5 for ext transfer so customers give out there ext number as a 510, 511 etc .

I do it to free up selector codes but it would work for what you want

you could choose any number you like

only issue comes in is users have to strip the first digit internally

The Partner ACS is marketed towards small businesses that do not need a very large number of extensions. The extension numbers cannot be changed, although, some creative use of the auto attendant's selector codes, could give the impression that extensions are 3 digits long.

Defaulted, the Merlin Magix uses 2 digit extensions, but the system does allow you to renumber extensions to use 3 digits.

Any new versions coming to the Partner line in the future? For example expansion of the control unit to allow more exts and more lines?

I am not sold on the IP thing yet. What do you folks think of the IP line.

Techs seem to be deeply divided on the issue of IP. Rather than regurgitate my rant here, check out thread689-1288346. You'll see what I mean.

From what we heard, at this point R7 is the "END OF THE LINE" for the Partner.2010 will be the end.

The IP Office 500 is positioned to start at 10 stations, and looks to be a really good product. You DON'T have to use any IP functionality, it runs quite reliably as a TDM switch.
