The ol' Avaya R7 with messaging died during a thunderstorm and since part of the business has moved out, I bought a single R6 processor with 2-port card. Getting the acs programmed was no problem, but I can't figure out the card. When I plug it in, it responds with the default greetings as it should, but I can't get in to program it. The Telephone Man of America even wrote the default password on the card for me, but when I push Intercom-7-7-7 the phone starts to ring and doesn't stop. Punching in 0-1-2-3-4 does nothing - it just keeps on ringing. I inserted the backup/restore card from the old R7 and did a backup after finishing the acs programming, but could it be that there's something still in there from the original Messaging card. Or did I just miss step one?

Partner voice messaging pc card (small)

The Partner Voice Messaging needs to have ports 78 & 79 assigned to Hunt Group #7. Press INT 78 to verify that the PVM answers. Ditto for 79.
If all looks good, remove ALL existing ports in Hunt Group 7 and then add 78 & 79.
The configuration for the R7 can't be directly applied to an R6. I...myself...would have replaced the bad processor with an R8.
