I've emailed in the past about our voice messaging card not always working right-it's really odd because it's so sporadic. We've tried all of the things you recommended-and really need to get something working. What I would like to do is just get a basic answering machine to us in place of this.We only have 2 phone lines-do we need a 2 line answering machine? The impression I get from reading the manual is that a 1 line machine will work but we need to put it at it's own extension.Am I on the right track?
Thanks!

You could use a two or one line answering machine, but each line would need to be its own ext.

Why dont you list your equipment and see if we can figure out what the issue is.

You could use a 1 line answering machine to answer both lines, but of course only one line at a time. Just assign both lines with immediate ring.

You could also plug it into the aux port of a ringing extension, and turn it off during the day, when you didn't want it to answer.
