I have a Partner ACS 5.0 with Partner Messaging Release 1.0. I have assigned phantom extensions to the voice mail and instructed the the mail that there is no phone at this extension. However, when the receptionist performs a VoiceMail Transfer to one of these phantom extensions it works but it rings her station twice at the same time. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Randy

Hi Randy,
I have never seen this. Are you sure ext 10 is not assigned to hunt group 7 (#505, 7)? I would expect other problems if that is the case. Are the phantoms set for extension 10 as the notification extension? (should not be)

I have never had this problem either. The customer that this sytem belongs to knows just enough to be dangerous and I am trying to figure out what they could have possibly done. No red flags jumped out at me and I was just hoping someone else could recognize this problem. It is not a hunt group problem since it only happens on VM Transfer and not when auto attendant answers and handles the VM transfers and the phantoms transfer return extensions have not been altered either.

I would log into the partner using Remote admin and do a print of the system....Transfer to text....something like that in the toolbar. Look at 10, and see what is wierd. If they are tweaking the system themselves....god only knows what they could of have done.
