I had a ACS r1.0 with a voicemail large card in it. 5 phones.
voicemail is calling phones and leaving up to 30 messages per day in mailboxes for no reason, it is also tying up the 2 outside lines sometimes both flashing red at the same time.
So I upgraded to ACS 6.0
still acting funny.
Any ideas?

Which extensions are assigned to Hunt Group #7?

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

What is the version level of the PVM PC card. You could have a defective PVM PC card.

....JIM....

I took the voicemail card out and the same issues still occur.

Something doesn't seem right. If you took the voicemail card out (assuming it is a Partner Voice Messaging) then the system would have no voicemail.

Is the voicemail really a Partner Voice Messaging (the small basic auto attendant/voicemail system) which is contained on a PCMCIA card that slides into one of the slots on the front of the main processor) or is it an Avaya Partner Messaging (the voicemail that takes up a slot in a 2 or 5 module holder and requires a 2, 4 or 6 port license) [ponder]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

it is the card in the slot and it's a large card.
Seems like station 12 lights up all the time on one phone. S o I removed station 12 and it still happens.
Maybe something to do with station 12?

Sounds like station port 12 is causing a short. Try power cycling the system without anything plugged into port 12. You could also try #728 with port 12 unplugged to see if that clears it.

tried both of those no help.
Extension 12 button stays lit red when i program it on a phone, when I push it it says transfer.
There is no phone in 12 port?????

So right now, the 3rd station port on the processor has nothing plugged into it and all intercom ports pointed to extension #12 are lit up?

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Correction.....My above post should say "and all intercom buttons programmed to ring extension #12"

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

correct
and sometimes lines 1&2 are lit at the same time as the extension button

Odd that ext 12 is busying out. Is it that mailbox that is getting all the voicemail messages? Make sure that the only extensions assigned to #505 group 7 are 78 and 79.

If the same problem happens with both the R1 & R6 processors, it would seem to point to a programming glitch. What exactly, I'm not sure. I would still check Hunt Group #7, and remove everything except extensions 78 & 79.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
