We have a Partner ACS 6.0 with a T1 interface. Carrier is sending 4 digit DNIS. Non-PRI T1. We are trying to set up a DID Number that will ring to an extension, and then be answered by voice mail. The DNIS digits do not match the extension numbers.

When we dial the number we have set aside for the voice mail (DNIS = 1321), it rings to the front desk.

Two questions;

Is there any way to get a DID to ring directly to a voice mailbox (and avoid ringing to an extension)?

Is there some place in programming to do digit translations to point a 4 digit DNIS (1321) to a 2 digit extension # (not ext. 21)?

Any input would be appreciated.

It rings at the front desk because the DID has an invalid destination. There is no extension assigned to the DID.

You will need the Partner Remote Acces software to modify DID's. Once you are into the system download the system translations and look underDID to assign that particular number to group 777 (or whatever your vmail group is)
