Both my Intercom lights are blinking Green and I cannot check my VM. The phone had disconnected several of my calls mid-sentence.

I installed my first Partner T-1 card and there have been a plethora of phantom issues with the transition. If you’ve read my other post you’ll see I’ve been having line issue. To top that off now the intercom lights on the phones will light up and not allow phone call to be transferred to the extensions. Now calls are dropping off after a matter of a few seconds (30 or so) I’ve been on a call with her when this happened.

I’ve go to make a service call and will be off line till tonight. Please respond and I’ll check the message later. Thanks again for all the help. I can not tell you how much I appreciate all the help.

Hit feature 59 on a display phone and tell us what the release it is.

It’s a release 6.0 and I believe it’s an issue with the T-1. We’ve swapped processor and I have a t-1 tech coming out tomorrow to help. The switch is doing some very unusual stuff. Some times it just turns it’s self off and then back on as if the power got bumped. When I pull a report and look at the alarms it shows

RECEIVED ERROR RATE EXCEEDS 1E-3 OR 1E-6

Not sure what it means. But it can’t be good. Any info would be good.

The error sounds like scientific notation. Although it should be 10E-3 and 10E-6, which is 1000 and 1,000,000 respectively. Am I guessing right, anyone?

I can't imagine why both intercom lights are lit. You never said if the light were blinking or if the phones were locked up in any way. So has anyone tried to pick up the intercoms? Do they hear outside dialtone, fast busy, silence, or what? Does the LCD display say anything while the phone is hung up, or when you try to use or transfer calls?

Have you tried to disconnect the T-1 line from the T-1 card (leave the t-1 card in it's slot), hook up some copper and see if the KSU still freaks out?

You may also want to try entering system progamming and do:
#728. This will shut the PBX down for a few seconds but it will retain the programming....weather that is good or bad, at this point it seems difficult to tell. Sometimes #728 can save a lot of headaches. Be sure nobody is using the phones/VM when you do it.

When you hit feature 59 the display will say something like
PACS R.6.0 or PACS R.6.0.4. If it is just 6.0 then you should call your vendor and tell him you need the T-1 patch. It is a free fix for the your problem.

Usually on a wink start T-1, when the other side loses signaling, or the signaling is different, it creates a ring signal on all lines, in turn causing all T-1 line to ring on the intercom lines.
It sounds like the T-1 vendor may still be having line troubles.
