Phoen doesn't have dial tone but the LCD has the clock time and is functioning.

Been a while since I worked on a legend but are there any codes to activate the phone or enable it to use the switch configuration for making outgoing calls and recive dial tone.

I'm thinking I have a faulty phone and the off hook is malfunctioning. Thoughts?

Check the 1st pair, that carries the audio. The 2nd pair runs the display and buttons. Start with the phone plugged into the control unit.

I tried the phone at a known good location. When you say pairs I'm assuming connecting to the base right? Is there codes to reset the phone or anything liek that?

Try plugging it into the system. Make sure you are using a 4 wire cord

TTT & Kwing are suggesting that you bring the telephone to the processor and plug it directly into the correct station jack.

This is done to check and see if the problem is being caused by in-house wiring or jack.

Partner telephones need 2 pairs of wires to function properly, so make sure the cable used to connect the telephone to the processor has 2 pairs or wires.
