Partner - SMDR - Tapit

Anyone know what settings I need to use to connect a PC with hyperterminal to a Partner ACS R6. I'd like to know what settings to use for hyperterminal and what kind of cable I need between the computer and the cat 5 cable. I bought a 355AF RS232 adapter so far. I also have the SMDR port extended to a cat 5 jack next to the computer that will be running tapit. Before I install the tapit software i'd like to know if I do in fact have information coming out of the partner system.
