Could I have the remote admin. assistant conference me into intercom 777 and get voicemail to respond to my keystrokes?

I have a number of sites without RAD cards and would like to reset voicemail passwords, and other admin stuff.

I WILL NOT give the voicemail passwords to any of the users, one 'gentleman' changed the password the day he left the company. If I had know he was getting bagged, I would have beat him to it.

Thanks

Hi rkochis,
If I understand you, you just need someone to transfer you to "777". Those systems do belong to your customer, therefore, you need their permission first. There should be an on-site admin person (or the owner) that also has these passwords.
I can't tell you how many systems we've taken over where the password is a secret. The old interconnect won't give them. It's the customer's equiptment!
Forgive me if I misunderstood you, but this is a sore spot with me.

Sorry about the sore point. I know this too well, I am now an in-house guy, but used to be a field engineer.

No, these are my units NOW that my position has inherited them. (OH BOY!) So what you are implying is that a transfer to 777 will allow me to manage the system remotely? I have all of the passwords, etc...

One of these days, my intent is to equip them all (20 or so) with the RAD card and manage everything remotely. But for now, budget doesn't allow.

Hi rkochis,
Yup, you now own'em. If you just want to manage the voicemail, then call in, identify yourself and have the employee transfer you to "777". You can now go into the admin mailbox and do whatever. It would be a very good idea to simply take control and change the passwords.
Create a proceedure that would only allow properly identified people to be transferred to the voicemail. I have not tried to dial in and just select "777" as the extension, it might work.
As far as Partner system programming goes, you need the Remote Admin. card. Or you have to talk someone through programming (yahoo). Just upgrade the software site by site to gain RAD ability. That's less than $200.00 per site CDN I think. What's that in USD, $20 ;-) .

itphoneguy,

Sorry, $200 CDN is $140 USD. Your money is still work more than Italian lire.
