Partner remote access loses settings

I've been using Partner remote access to configure a system, but it seems that when I download a translation from the switch, modify it, and upload and install it, some of the switch settings are lost. Specifically, the voice mail hunt group settings must be manually reentered from the phone on line 10, and also the remote access password. Is this normal? I thought that the translation file (xmg) was supposed to encode all information so that it could be used as a backup in the event of a problem.

You are doing a backup before pulling system translations, corect?
