Thats one of the differences, there are also ,partner 2 support Caller ID and Hyprid mode (pools) and partner plus not.,also partner 2 has ASA and DXD built in and partner plus not.I hope that helps. Good Luck!
Hi skip555,
You need 206EC cards for caller ID. Change the battery before getting into programming the unit unless you know that's been done. That goes for both types.
Hi skip555,
There is a small 3.6 V nicad battery for memory backup. It's a three pin type like they used to use on computers. Varta still make them new. In Canada they cost $8-$10. A nicad is normally good from 4 to 7 yrs. I always change them when setting up a used Partner system for a customer.
These are soldered in, but not difficult to change. They exist in the processor.
