whats a pulse dial phone and why would you use them????
a pulse dial phone emulates the pulses made by a rotary dial phone most single line phones and most buttsets have a p/t (pulse/tone) switch
a pulse only phone would be either a old rotary dial phone or a mid 80's phone that allowed you to have "push buttons" without having to pay for touchtone service (yes folks the telco's used to charge extra for touchtone service)
(I can remeber telling my wife we realy should have touchtrone service since I was repairing touchtone phones)
Hi skip555,
Until last year (mabey still) my mother-in-law had pulse dialing. She refuses to pay extra for touch tone. Yup, they have touch tone phones set to pulse. I hate using their phones.

Thank you.
The question came from a nursing home facility that wanted to install one of those very durable rotary dial phones that weighs about 20 pounds.
you might want to point out to them that a 2500 set is also very durable and is just the TT version of the 500 (rotary dial) they are probably planning to use
the problem i see is that so many things outide the phone system will not recognize pulses ,voice mail , banking , beepers ect ect be sure you point this out to them and that they understand that the innablity to use these functions is out of your hands
Hi,
We use the 2500's all the time. Beautiful phones and reasonably indestructable. We used to be part of ITT so we have lots of those. Skip555 is right on. TT services will be impossible to use. You should be able to find a supplier locally for the 2500's.
