When the Partner Attendant transfers a call to an ext. the caller hears dead air for 60 sec before either someone picks up the call or it goes to vmail. Should the caller be hearing MOH during the transfer process or a ring tone? Is there a way to shorten the delay or initiat ringing tone?

I had same problem a few weeks ago, i told them to install MOH thinking that would get rid of the dead air. Aparently not, it is a fault of the processor. Sorry.

They SHOULD be hearing MOH if you have it enabled and working. On later releases and the ACS's, you have the choice of ringing-on-transfer as active or not active. Not active means the caller will hear MOH.

Yes as Tommy siad you should hear music, if your programming is correct you may want to check the rca jack that goes into the system sometimes they aren't all the way in and you aren't getting music to the system. I've had to skin back the plastic on some jacks to get them to go all the way in.

What PartnerPlus release version gives the choice of ringing-on-transfer? My MOH is dead. I have tried peeling back the RCA jack, playing with volume control and adding/removing/adding MOH from the programing but to no avail. I also pulled the blade out and saw no visible damage to the board or RCA adapter. Thanks for the feedback so far.

Check the #602 programming. It activates and deactivated the MOH.
listed under considerations in the manual it states

-if Music on hold is set to NOT ACTIVE or No audio source is connected callers on hold hear silence.

-Transferred callers also hear music on hold

Hi garzilla,
Did you try the volume control? (silly question)

I tried adjusting the MOH volume, deactivatiing/activating the MOH option and using different music sources but it still will not work. The fall back option will be to purchase a new 4.0 processor or upgrade to 4.1 processor. Are there any issues with upgrading from 4.0 to 4.1? Re-programming? Thanks again for the feedback!

Since you will be replacing a partner plus processor any processor you get would need to be reprogrammed. It may be wise to go with an ACS processor.

Hi garzilla,
I have seen a few processors where the volume control solder joints where cracked, this is very easy to resolder. Look at the RCA jack connectors while you are at it.
Failing an easy fix, ttech has a very good suggestion. Upgrade to an ACS.
