Customer has a PC Mail with 4 mailboxes and on mailbox one, (ext-10), they are having problems with a "screeching" noise every so often that is being recorded in the mailbox. When they go to retrieve the message, the noise comes through very loudly. The Processor is a R3.0.1. I wasn't sure how to troubleshoot this, so in a lame attempt to appease the customer, I switched the back-up card with the PC mail and crossed my fingers as I did it. To make a long story short, does this sound like it is a defective VM or a problem with the ACS processor? Thanks in advance.

Is it by chance a fax or modem noise that may be going to the mailbox as it would be the operators box if no digits are dialed. You could always default the VM and rebuild it also.

A trusted source for years.
