Hi all,
I have a partner messaging and I am trying to change the auto attnedant greeting and selector codes.
The problem is that the password I am using is incorrect and the personnel on site doesn't know what the password is.
How do I reset the password for the system administrator.
I tried the default password that could get into the Partner PMVS but that isn't working either.
Any information would be very helpful.

Thank you,

There are 2 options to choose from in order to get a lost Admin password reset....Avaya support or a Local Authorized Avaya Business Partner.

A Local Business Partner will usually charge less than Avaya Support.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Dexman,

How will a local business partner be able to recover that password?

The Avaya Business Partners have access to imbedded passwords for every AT&T/Lucent/Avaya voicemail system.

The ABP would use the password to log into the system as an Admin and then change the regular Admin password to something temporary.

At that point, the user would log into the system using the temporary password and change it to whatever they choose.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Dexman,

That makes sense. Is there a way to default the partner messaging through the RS-232 port? I am basicly in the same situation to where I have a customer who bought a partner ACS R7 with Partner messaging (used) and I dont have the sysadmin Password.

Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge (and any of the lead contributors who knows the system better than I can correct me if needed) the only way to execute a reset is via an Admin password (either the imbedded or known).

Unfortunately what happened with your customer is all too common when purchasing voicemails via the Internet from sites like eBay.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Dexman is correct the RS232 port wants also the admin password and you need to reset it first to get in.
Hat to tell you this but you can always try something like 123456 and backwards to test if they have set this up, or if they have been defaulting the system then it is simply #

sorry skipped into the wrong post for the last suggestion with it being defaulted, but try the usual suspects with generic numbers or the main phone number (I will not use either one ever)
