Im installing a ACS rel 7 and two port partner messaging rel 7 as a upgrade from a partner 11 ,

processor seems fine when I add the messaging module and call in it lights up two lines and answers with "your call is being transfred"

no matter what line I call on it will light that line and line one , when I hang up ,the line I called in on goes out but line one stays lit and it transfers the call to 10

evan though we have it set to pick up on two rings it picks up immediatley

from what I can see everything is set up correctly ,

I have the weekly business schudle set up

hunt group 7 works

I recorded messages in the auto attendent , all still the same .

when I first powred up it was ringing all four lines for a short time .

I used the existing 5 slot carrier and have the processor in the center slot and messaging in slot one ?

Im assuming its a defective messaging unit ?

if im missing something I would rather get it working than return it

Hi Skip-

As you know, the "your call is being transferred" on incoming calls usually means that one or more of the voice mail ports didn't make it into Hunt Group 7

For an ACS R7 and a 2 port Messaging in slot 1, the VM ports are 19 and 20. Did one of them get missed? Is the port license card actually for more than 2 ports?

You might want to set up an extension with auto intercom buttons for all the ports on the VM card, 19-24, and see what lights up when you call 777 and on incoming calls.

Good luck!!

I did have 19 and 20 in in group 7, put them in and took them out a couple of times , went through and confrimed that they where the only two in the group.

I can call 19 and 20 and have the vm answer

didnt think of programing the buttons for the two ports ,

it seems like it answers one line and then seizes a second

it is a two port card (at least thats what it says )

when I posted I was on site .

I'll call the supplier this morning and see what they say

thanks for the reply

There are some "mislabeled" licenses going around. I have seen a couple labeled 2 port and are really 4 ports or 6 ports even. Some 4 ports labeled 6 port as well. Try adding more ports and see what happens.

I wouldnt mind a few free ports but why would it be grabbing two lines ?

if it where just the "your call is being transfred ",I would understand but the line one plus the line being called is whats bothering me .

supplier goes along with you guys says it may be a mislbled 4 or 6 port card , so Ill run up there and try again .

Both mis-labeled ports are receiving incoming ring at the same time, so they answer at the same time. Only one of them grabs the incoming call, so the other one just goes off-hook, getting the other line.

thats what it was, he got a 4 port for the price of two .

he's happy with the bonus , im happy to have it working and I got a check :)
