new customer (I didnt instal or set it up ) calls says it quite sending emails , voice mail works just fine but no email.

when I go into administration I can see the box unify with email but it dosnt allow me to check it . I tried creating a new mailbox and got the same thing the box is there but I cant check it. the text is lightly colred , not dark like it should be

they are using exchange , I can ping the messsaging module and I tested the cabeling and it tests ok .

i thought I would reinstall the software but im looking for other possible fixs first .

Hi Skip,
Did someone disable the account on the exchange server for the voicemail? Is the iP address in the messaging module valid (correct). Silly questions for you but I have to ask.

chris I appretiate your confidence but I have never installed or set up unified messaging , just read the 30 pages on the disc.

ip address is correct and to be honest I hadnt looked at the exchange account I was expecting a quick easy fix , like a bad patch cord or something :)

I guess when I went in and saw that unify with email wasnt checked and couldnt be checked I got hung up there

so if the exchange account is inactive I can't select that option in programing the mailbox, untill exchange is properly set up ?

I was reading the manual in a little more depth today and I do have a MCSE Exchange book here somewhere guess I'll dig it out and read a bit this weekend

Hi Skip,
I think if the vm can't "talk" to the exchange server, you can't check the box. I guess you can use the gui to program the voicemail. That's number 1. Make sure the vm is on the same subnet as well.
